How to Evaluate & Interpret 24 Holter ECG Readings

Quick Guide for CardioVisions step-by-step ECG Analysis

CardioVisions 24 holter ecg software provides beat-by-beat ecg annotation with automatic (but editable) event detection, time and frequency domain HRV analysis, pacemaker functions and QT analysis. The software is extremely accurate as it is able to find QRS with near to 100% accuracy.

Suggested Steps of 24 Holter ECG Evaluation

  • Retrieve 24 Holter ECG Data

Beat distribution (ecg annotation) can be done automatically after uploading data from CardioVisions ecg software.

A card-reader unit is needed to upload 24 holter ecg from the memory card to the software.

  • Make Manual Alterations - if necessary

If you want to check automatic ecg beat distribution (annotation), start with 'V' groups with small '?' in them. The process can be continued with checking annotation groups with red 'E' in them. For scrolling use the small arrows right-hand side below. Here you can create new annotation groups or insert individual beats. Quick 24 holter ecg overview is supported by 'Run ecg', 'Subgroups' and 'Show ecg beats' functions.

  • Spike Chart

The 24 holter ecg spike chart supports setting the right diagnosis up by showing holter ecg events in the order of importance. Related settings are available in Tools/Options/ECG Setups/Spike Chart.

  • ST Analyis

ST elevation or depression can be assed on the ST graph. Limit values can be set in Tools/Options/ECG Setups/ST Pathological Limits.

ST analysis

  • QT and PQ Analysis

QT and PQ graphs and event list give information on the risk of sudden cardiac death. Chances of survival are indicated by the shape and location of the wave.

  • Time and Frequency Domain HRV Analysis

CardioVisions 24 holter ecg software provides many tools for the analysis and display of variations in the heartbeat - intervals. The HRV module contains HRV statistics, bar chart and risk analysis, HRV 3d Lorenz graph, PSD (Power Spectral Density) chart. The unquie CardioVisions HRV-based risk analysis provides information on the cardiac mortality of patients after myocardial infarction: low values of heart-rate variability (SDBB <70) carries a significant risk of cardiac mortality. The Lorenz graph displays possible atrial fibrillations in 3D format.

  • ECG Statistics

The 24 holter ecg statistics table contains a holter summary and displays an abstract on HR and RR intervals, tachycardia, bradycardia, pause, rhythm disturbances and QT data in both chart and text format.

  • Report

Defining your basic default 24 holter ecg report in Tools/Options/ECG setups/Standard reports/CardioMera/CardioBlue24 report is recommended here.
